How it works
Tally on Cloud
In recent times, most of the Tally users felt the necessity of accessing their Tally application and data from remote locations. In the lockdown phases the things became more critical.
Apart from these situations, for many businesses, this is the necessity to access Tally from one or multiple remote locations. That includes operating from multiple branch offices/ gowdowns / warehouses etc. The field staff too requires to access various Tally reports, that would show the real-time figures. These factors made the concept of Tally on Cloud very popular amongst the Tally users.
Tally on cloud primarily can be handled in two ways:
-
Tally on Cloud : Accessing from Hosted Server
Tally licenses is shifted to the Cloud Server along with the data. All the users are given access the data through the credentials given to them (Usernames& Passwords). In short, Tally is hosted on the third-party cloud and accessed tusing TS Plus licenses.
-
Tally on Cloud : Accessing from In-Premise Server
Many of the Tally users are reluctant to place their Tally licenses and data on third-party cloud. In such cases, Tally is accessed from outside location using TS Plus through Static IP. The feature of TS Plus web publishing is used in this method and Tally can be accessed by the remote user through a web-browser. As, it is accessed on a Web browser, the remote user can run his Tally on Mac, Android or Linux devices too.
Pre-requisites of Tally on Cloud Setup
- The Main Computer/ Server (where Tally license is installed) should have Windows Operating System
- It should not be Home Edition of Windows. The setup can be done on Winodws7, 8, 10 professional editions or Windows Server 2008, 12, 16,19
- The Server should provide adequate RAM and Internet bandwidth

Tally Local Printing
Although Tally is hosted on the Remote server or Cloud, the users can take the local printouts of the required documents / reports. This is made possible because of the TS Plus feature ‘Universal Printer’ that sends the prints from Server to Local machine / printer.
A special Add-on called Virtual Printer can help Tally users to the printouts on non-standard paper sizes such as POS Printers or A3 / A5 size printers etc.
*Note : The users need to check TVU policy (Tally Virtual User Licensing Policy) of Tally Solutions Pvt Ltd. before going for Tally on Cloud
